Facial Blushing Treatments

Facial blushing is one of the most common manifestations of an hyperactive sympathetic system. Often combined with facial hyperhidrosis, facial blushing is a problematic condition that can cause social problems and psychological complications. For most of us, being an “open book” to others is not desirable and traditionally, blushing is associated with being ashamed or being timid. This is why more and more people experiencing blushing and facial redness are considering treatments to diminish its effects. Severe cases of blushing are called idiopathic cranio-facial erythema – almost any slight trigger can cause very visible facial blushing. There are different types of treatments for this conditions: surgical facial blushing treatments, drug treatments for blushing and psychological treatments.

Surgical facial blushing treatments

ETS was one of the potential treatments for blushing. It was believed that ETS was responsible for diminished facial blushing with patients who used it for palmar hyperhidrosis treatments. Later studies, however, concluded that ETS is not such a good choice for this particular condition. The compensatory sweat levels it produces and the numerous side effects are strong points against using ETS for facial blushing treatments. With ETS out of the questions, what are the other choices?

Drug treatments for blushing

Robinol, Ditropan and Propanthelin together with a series of anticholinergic drugs are good choices when it comes to facial redness and excessive blushing. These offer a more conservative approach and should be tried before any surgical operation is considered. This approach can provide patients with good results. Some choose to combine the blushing treatment with drugs like Xanax. Other treatment methods may include bio feedback, although this has not been proven to be very effective. Anxiety medications, Beta-blockers and Clonidine are also used in facial blushing treatments.

Psychological treatment options

Social phobia is one of the causes for facial blushing and direct psychological treatments usually produce excellent results. Psychological treatment may include: Involuntary blushing is common to people who have social phobia. In most cases, these disorders respond well to treatment. Psychological treatment options can include: Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) – a for of treatment that aims to help people change their behavior and thinking patterns in certain social situations. Breathing techniques are also used commonly for facial blushing, since symptoms of anxiety are triggered by hyperventilation. Fear confrontation is another method used to cure facial blushing – the patient is helped, by a counselor, to overcome social fears and get over the social phobias.

Type of Sweat and Body Odor

Many of us are troubled with body odor. Those of us who have body odor detest it and try various methods to fight that. The first thing all of us do is – use deodorants. Do deodorants remove body odor? No, they only mask it and as the deodorant evaporates the body odor becomes prominent again. The need is to fight the odor itself rather than mask it. How to do that? To find out, let us know more about sweat that causes body odor.

Sweat is the body’s natural defense to maintain body temperature. By sweating, the body cools itself of the heat that may get generated because of outside temperature, physical work, and emotional stress. Some diseases can also cause sweating. For that, you should consult your doctor.

Have you noticed the places on your body from where you get maximum body odor? They are armpits and genital areas. Why? Because they produce sweat of a different kind compared to sweat produced by other body parts. Do types of sweat glands.

Our body has two types of sweat glands- Eccrine sweat glands and Apocrine sweat glands.Eccrine glands are distributed all over the body. Apocrine sweat glands are located on the scalp, armpits and the genital area. Eccrine sweat contains water, and very small amounts of salt, urea, sugar and ammonia. Apocrine glands produce sweat that contains fatty matter. The body odor is mainly caused by Apocrine sweat. That is why you get more body smell in your armpits and genital area but not on your hands or legs.

Sweat is generally odorless. Most of the times, it is the bacterial disintegration of sweat of both the types that produces odor. It is the Apocrine sweat that causes more of body odor. To stop body odor, the need is to remove sweat as it accumulates on the skin and to reduce bacteria that thrives on the sweat and produces odor. Use of a good anti bacterial soap can reduce bacteria to a substantial extent. Those who are more troubled by this problem of body odor also use antiperspirants. As antiperspirants reduce the amount of sweat considerably, the problem of body odor is taken care of.

To conclude- Use an antiperspirant if you sweat excessively. Use anti bacterial soap to kill the odor-producing bacteria. Do not wear the clothes after drying them of sweat. That stale sweat will cause lot of odor. Use clothes after washing them again.

Use them during summer and avoid embarrassing situations!

Perfume: Use them during summer and avoid embarrassing situations!

Body odor is a normal thing, it exists with each animal or human, since the time of the birth, in fact this happens to be one way how you pet identifies you or other animals identify their kin. However, as you begin to age, sometimes, it remains as inconspicuous as ever or becomes evident when it smells louder. There are several reasons why some people have strong body odor whereas it is least evident in others, these are related to medical, hormonal, use of products and hygiene factors in people.

However, in summer body odor and the smell of sweat seem to mix and give out a smell that no one would want people around them to smell. This is the reason during summer there are all the more reasons why perfumes in some form or other are necessary to be used.

Which perfumes are the best during summer?

Best perfumes are the ones which can disguise body odor or better still work with sweat and give out perfume odor instead of sweat smell. This category of perfumes is called the deodorizers or body spray, that work with skin and body chemicals to give out pleasant smell rather than the sweat smell.

Use according to the situations, basically if you are thinking of putting another perfume on your dress, it is better that you use deodorizers which gives a very mild odor so that you perfume and deodorizer smell do not mix up.

If you are outdoors in the sun it is likely that you will require using a stronger deodorizer which has the capability of keeping smell at bay, and will not disappoint you in the middle of the day. You will need checking the deodorizers for that, most of the branded deodorizers will stay with you as long as 12 hours.

How and when to use the deodorizer?

There are deodorizer sprays and roll-ons. Both these are effective however, vary hugely in cost, the sprays are expensive whereas the roll-ons are inexpensive. Deodorizers should be used after a bath. It is necessary that you bathe with warm to cool water during summer, taking a bath with hot water can aggravate your body odor, at times making it unbearable not just for you but also those around you.

Try and wear a freshly washed set of clothes each time you take a bath during summer, ensure drying the body well, because bacteria from water too can combine with skin chemicals and cause smell. Use deodorizer on your skin rather than any clothes. Use it immediately after you have dried your body, for better effect spray it under arms and mildly around the upper torso, try to put a little on your back, this is another place where you will sweat. Using deodorizer on cloth, will not enable it to work. Wear cotton clothes which breathe air, and use another perfume on top if you need any. Mild deodorizers give away a wonderfully personal smell, which is great in intimate relationships.

Are you looking for a great way to show your team spirit? Maybe you want to be able to pick out your team members in a crowd? Customized sweat bands are great for teens and active adults they’re a fun and creative way to show team enthusiasm. Customized sweat bands also personalize the right materials you chose to protect you from perspiration while in the heat of the moment.

Some companies and athletic clubs don’t have the budget to blow on Jerseys, so customized sweat bands come in as a handy and less expensive alternative, a great way to show off your team colors and to demonstrate your personality. A sweat band is designed to absorb the perspiration so that the sweat doesn’t role in to the eyes, or face of the athlete while he is being active. A customized sweat band will protect you from sweat and help make sure that the material used will feel the most comfortable according to your needs. Being able to customize your own sweat band is a great and useful way, cheaper then jerseys they’re a great way to show team enthusiasm and your own personality. The best material should be made available to your personal needs.

If you are considering purchasing customized sweat bands for your team there are a few things you should keep in mind to get the most benefits out of them and to make them something your team will want to wear with pride. Don’t forget to add your team name or your players name to the band not only to help keep them sorted as far as who’s belongs to who but also to show off their name to their fans. Consider the material you are purchasing for your customized sweat bands and consult with your team members as to any allergies they may have. No one wants to wear something they are allergic too, not even a customized sweat band.

With customized sweat bands the sky is the limit and you are in the driver’s seat when it comes to making these as personal as you possibly can!

Woman Sweating Need No Longer be Controlled by Modern Deodorants

July 29, 2009 by anthony

More so than during other times in the recent of history of mankind, in this day and age it’s more important than ever to stay as sweat-free and sweet smelling as possible. This means that most of us need to resort to the use of deodorants, antiperspirants and other such devices to help us control our sweating problems. And more so than for a man, for a woman sweating and the associated stains, odors and things, are a big problem.

This coupled with the fact that most advertising promotions are aimed at women and how they can stop or control their sweat, makes for a very neurotic population of women indeed. Just think about it, when was the last time that you left the house without first applying a dash of perfume, or a dose of fresh deodorant or antiperspirant? Probably just before you discovered the wonders of deodorant!

But did you ever stop to think what these chemical based deodorants and antiperspirants could be doing to your body? Yes, for a woman sweating is a major problem, and you have to absolutely always look fresh and bright with nothing to remind you that you are actually human and therefore prone to sweating.

This is of course not your fault – we have been raised to believe from our very small days that sweat is bad, and that smelling of sweat is one of the worst offences ever!

True, smelling of sweat is no picnic either for you or for those around you, but sweating is an absolutely essential part of your bodily functions and inhibiting this function just to be able to go about in society with your head held high is a high price, which you will have to pay for, in the future.

Science has yet to tell us conclusively that breast cancer cannot be caused by the use of chemical laden deodorants and sweat-inhibiting, pore-clogging antiperspirants. They do however, tell us repeatedly over and over again, that there’s as yet no conclusive link between the two – implying that it is safe to use these without further thought about the consequences.

These are just semantics, a tap dancing around the real issue in which deodorant and antiperspirant giants make use of the neurosis that a woman sweating even moderately, has these days.

What about in the days before deodorants and antiperspirants came on the scene, what then? Surely not everyone in the world stayed as grime laden as did our middle-ages ancestors? Surely there were other civilizations which stayed smelling sweet and fresh without resorting to the toxins that we use today?

The answer of course, is there were such civilizations and yes, they had means of dealing with sweat, and dealing with it in a natural manner without resorting to the use of nasty toxins. And for today’s woman sweating need no longer be controlled by modern deodorants and antiperspirants, instead they can turn to these age old natural methods to help deal with any sweat problems.

3 Dead-simple Steps You Must Avoid if You Want to Get Rid of Your Acne Effectively

July 29, 2009 by anthony

Ever wonder why some people get rid of their acnes faster than others? Though there are of course many factors to it, do you know that many times simple yet crucial steps can be taken by oneself on minimizing of acne growth? Be it mild acne or severe one, our daily self-care is definitely the strong foundation to get clear, beautiful skin.

There are 3 main things that you must avoid at all times to help get rid of acne on a daily basis. We probably know it as a common sense, but the trick here is to keep reminding ourselves and practicing change until it forms a habit.

Dead-Simple Step #1: Never Squeeze You Acne, At All Times

Squeezing is tempting and it seems like an instant result to get rid of the acne. But do you know that no matter how lightly you squeeze your pimples, it is bound to leave bad scars on your skin? Not only that, whether or not you are professional, germs from the acne will spread around the rest of the skin if you are not careful.

Such a method will only make things worst. Can you imagine from a small acne patch now ended up with a forehead full of sore acnes? That is dreadful and I’m positively sure that’s not what we all hope for.

Instead, try putting natural herbs on the acne areas. A mixture of cinnamon powder with honey is a great remedy to cure acne. An alternate method can be boiling neem leaves and applying it onto acne. It is an excellent disinfectant tool.

Dead-Simple Step #2: Avoid Hair Fall on Acne-Affected Area

I get it; many times we do not want to fall as a fashion-idiot and try to have fancy hairstyles that cover almost half of our faces. It may be cool short-term. But the bursting of face full of acne is definitely not cool in the long-run, especially when minimum days to cure acne takes at least 2-3 days.

Do you know that hairs tend to trap bacteria when we sweat? Not only that, hair that is not frequently washed becomes oily and hairs close on the skin will cause pores to clog.

Be it you’re a face acne-prone person or body acne-prone person, try to keep hairs at minimum near to skin. Also, not forgetting to frequently wash these areas with acne soaps (2-3 times a day is the best recommended).

Dead-Simple Step #3: Never Leave Skin-Contact Materials Unwashed

Our clothing, face or bath towel, pillow and bed sheets are some of the things are in constant contact with our skin. Not changing or washing these clothing frequent enough cause germs to grow fast especially when moist.

Try changing,

Clothes – daily;

Bath Towel – 3-4 days once;

Bed Sheets – once a week

The above is only for recommendation. You should tailor suit to your needs and environment. The point here is to place personal hygiene at your utmost priority.

So remember to be consistent in avoiding the 3 steps above at all times. Start by being aware, then practice changing until it becomes a habit. You see, it’s just dead simple and now you are on your way to have beautiful clear skin.

Top 5 Skin Care Tips

July 29, 2009 by anthony

In an attempt to get shiny and radiant skin many people will spend tons of money and time using the latest skin products. But often they don’t see permanent results, or any results for that matter. Yet they still believe that the latest skin cream on the market is going to solve all of their skin problems.

When you follow the following skin care tips you won’t need all those skin care products, all you will need is one or two organic skin creams to enhance your beautiful skin. The main thing you need to understand is that if your skin is not healthy and shiny right now if you follow these tips you can get results.

But understand it takes time, effort, and in the short-term your skin may even get worse before it gets better as you cleanse your body of harmful toxins.

Skin Care Tips – Work Out

You need to get fit and healthy if you want your skin to shine. If you look at most people who take care of their body by working out and eating healthy food (organic fruits vegetables, and nuts) they have excellent skin.

This is because when you work out you naturally expel harmful toxins from your body. Your body gets these toxins mainly from your environment, processed food, and chemicals. And they are released through your skin.

Your body gets rid of toxins quickly when you are sweating, for example, but if you live a sedentary lifestyle and don’t work out toxins take longer to get out of the body and therefore they will show up on your skin as acne, blemishes, rashes, discoloration etc.

Skin Care Tips – Eat Organic

Basically, your skin reflects how you are treating your body and what you are putting into it. So, you need to eat right in order to get that radiant skin you have always wanted.

You need to eat organic food as much as you can afford to because it is not filled with the chemicals (toxins) that processed food is. Next time you go food shopping think of it this way, pretty much everything in the aisles is all junk full of chemicals that give you bad skin. Everything around the outside of the store is pretty much okay to eat and won’t show up on your skin.

If you are unsure if a food is healthy just read the ingredients. Ingredients should be other kinds of food not chemicals.

Skin Care Tips – Watch The Sun and The Sunscreen

The third skin care tip is that you need to watch how much time you spend in the sun. You do want to spend 10 – 15 minutes a day in the sun if you can so your body can get the vitamin D it needs.

Also get your sunscreen at your local health food store so it is natural. Commercial sunscreens contain chemicals that harm your skin.

Skin Care Tips – Stress

It is well documented that stress causes much harm to the human body. Another of the skin care tips for maintaining healthy skin is to reduce or avoid stress. While all stress is not possible to eliminate, learning to deal with it can remove some of the worry lines that are carved into many foreheads and around the eyes. Learn yoga, tai chi, meditation techniques, or just exercise for stress management.

Skin Care Tips – Clean Hands

Ask any health expert and they will tell you that the hands are one of the biggest enemies of facial skin. Washing your hands frequently and refraining from touching your face will prevent the transfer of germs and bacteria to the skin on your face.

Once you follow the above skin care tips you can use your favorite natural skin cream to enhance the appearance of your skin even further. That is really what skin creams are meant for anyway. The companies won’t tell you that because they want you buy a lot of their product, but the truth is that you need “good skin to have good skin,” not good creams.

Having good skin comes from being healthy and fit. Don’t think that having great skin is easy though, it takes work, determination and motivation to get healthy.

Give the above skin care tips a try and you will see results. Good luck on your journey towards health and wellness!

Best heavy metal albums of the 1990s

July 28, 2009 by anthony

Some people would argue that the 90’s have seen a decline in Metal, with the emergence of grunge, but what happened was that with the great success of metal & hard rock, a lot of hair and glam bands that weren’t that good surfaced, and they failed, but the bands that were great stayed and till these days they are here

Some of the greatest metal bands have made their most successful metal albums in this era, and although there weren’t great bands that have appeared in this decade most of them were created in the 80’s- except in subgenres like death, black and doom, a lot of bands have released their most successful albums in this decade

Some of the great metal albums of the 90’s are:

Metallica Metallica (1991)

Their most successful album and highest selling album, and one of the highest selling albums of all time, containing their most famous songs like “enter sandman”, “the unforgiven”, “nothing else matters”, “sad but true” and other great songs like “my friend of misery”, “wherever I may roam”, this album is a masterpiece, lyrically and musically, and a benchmark in their careers, as a lot of fans would describe their career as pre black album and post black album

Slayer – Seasons in the abyss (1990)

The album was recorded in the 80’s but released in the 90’s, so it makes this list, however it is a great album, and if it only contained the title track, it would also made this list, with other fan favorite songs like “dead skin mask” and “war ensemble”, this album is heavy and dark and witnessed slayer going for more melodies in their music

Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis (1995)

After an alleged retirement from Ozzy Osbourne, he came back with this album, and it is a great thing that he did, because if he didn’t, we wouldn’t get to hear this great album, we probably wouldn’t know who Zakk Wylde is, and we wouldn’t have heard great classics like “Perry Mason”, “I just want you” and “see you on the other side”

Sepultura Chaos AD (1993)

One of their greatest albums, along with “roots”, this album kind of broke Sepultura into the greater success, because of their unique style that combines metal with tribal and groovy music, along with Igor Cavalera’s drumming and his brother Max’s vocals and exceptional presence as frontman

Pantera – Cowboys from hell (1990)

It was hard to choose one album for Pantera, so this is their 1st album with their new lineup and new style, considered pioneers among the hardcore metal scene, this album is their major label debut and contains a lot of proves on the abilities & talents of the band’s members, the Abbott brothers, Rex Brown & Phil Anselmo, and songs like the title track, “Cemetery gates” and “the sleep”

Megadeth Countdown to Extinction (1992)

As with Pantera, it is hard to choose one album for Megadeth, featuring songs like “Symphony of destruction”, “sweating bullets” and “countdown to extinction”, this is one of the finest albums for one of the best metal bands

There were a lot of great heavy metal albums in the 90’s, and it is impossible to make a perfect list especially when it is about something like music, there were a lot of other great albums in the 90’s like GNR “use your illustrations I &II”, Megadeth “cryptic writings” & “Youthanasia”, Pantera “far beyond driven”& “Vulgar display of power”, and others more, there were a lot of great death, black and doom metal albums and hard rock albums in this decade, to the point that you can fill a book, so the albums mentioned above are mentioned for their greatness along with their impact on the metal scene in the 90’s.
